Ile-Ife crisis: ACF alerts Yoruba older folks
Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has spoke to Yoruba seniors to show limitation in their remarks over the current emergency in Ile-Ife, Osun.
The northern socio-social gathering in an announcement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Muhammadu Ibrahimin, in Kaduna on Tuesday, asked Yoruba seniors not to give ethnic tinge to the emergency.
Ibrahimin depicted the conflict between some Yoruba and Hausa dealers as culpability, which did not know ethnicity or religion.
`He stated: ''ACF noted with dishearten, allegations by some Yoruba pioneers that the police give an account of the conflict was one-sided, as the suspects paraded by the police were asserted to be mostly Yoruba."
He advised that difference between people or gatherings of people viewed as ethnic or religious was hazardous and would extend disdain and division among Nigerians.
Ibrahimin said ACF soon after the occurrence denounced the killings and approached the gatherings required to shun severity and soak up the soul of convenience and resistance.
He included: "ACF praised the provoke move made by the security organizations, the Osun State Government and group pioneers to reestablish peace and regularity in Ile-Ife.
"ACF likewise approached the different groups that have lived respectively in peace and concordance throughout the years to dependably practice restriction in their expressions on such delicate issues that may snowball into emergencies with retaliation results.''
